Emotional means closeness. Where epic and majestic create distance and scale, emotional music takes a step closer — to a face, a hand, a single person.
How to recognize it
By few voices. Piano alone, solo cello, solo violin, sometimes a guitar — and lots of space in between. By simple progressions you could sing along to, usually four chords in a loop. And by tempo under seventy, often without drums.
When an orchestra joins in, it comes late and as a swell, not as an entrance. In emotional music, the moment the strings come in is the actual climax.
What it's suited for
For anything personal: portraits and interviews, fundraising appeals and foundation films, wedding and family films, retrospectives and year-end reviews, hospital and care topics, farewells, product stories with people in them.
What it's not for: as a constant backdrop. Emotional music works through contrast with the rest. If it runs through an entire film, the climax loses its place.
No PRO registration
The tracks are royalty-free and also GVL-free — both sides cleared. Especially for foundation and fundraising films airing on TV and at events, this saves the registration and the later claim. The cue sheet is generated automatically, licensing is a one-time fee starting at 1.49 €.
